Job Summary:
  • You will be responsible for the design and drafting of electrical systems for buildings. Specification editing shall also be included in your responsibilities. The size of projects and the amount of responsibility shall increase as time progresses.
  • Punch lists, and shop drawing review may also be part of your responsibilities.
  • Transform initial rough project designs and concepts into working documents utilizing Auto Cad or Revit.
  • Must have the ability to efficiently plan and organize work.
  • Strong Revit skills are required to succeed.
  • Work independently with advice of the department head and with guidance from senior designers and engineers.
  • Is capable of handling small design projects and making competent decisions.
  • Using basic design criteria furnished by engineer, performs calculations for design of various components and prepares final drawings.
  • Modifies design to project conditions and coordinates the disciplines of the design team.
  • Perform fieldwork to gather or confirm data.
  • Must have reliable transportation available as project site visits will be required
  • Reports directly to the Electrical Group Leader
Qualificaitons:
  • Education/ Certifications: Preferred but not required A.S. degree in Electrical engineering/technology or Electricians license
  • Minimum Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical design experience
Personal Development:
  • Research appropriate trade-related information to further education and attend seminars
  • Develop lighting design capabilities and utilize office lighting calculation software
  • Utilize EZ Power analysis software as well as generator sizing software.
Location: Portland, ME (Remote Eligible for Local Talent)
Travel: 10%
